Freemasonry

Freemasonry is the oldest and largest Fraternity in the World.

Today, there are over 300 lodges in the State of Victoria working under our peak body known as “Grand Lodge”. There are other independent Grand Lodges in each State of Australia and most countries throughout the world.

Freemasonry has a diverse membership of men of men from 18 years and older. The oldest known member is over 100 years old. Freemasons come from diverse social, economic, religious and cultural backgrounds. It is an organization which values good conduct, charitable efforts, courtesy and self development. It values a man’s character and intentions above things like his bank balance, the suburb he lives in, profession and social connections. In Freemasonry, diverse men unite as equals in fraternal brotherhood and friendship.

There are several lodges of freemasons meeting at Collingwood.

The freemasons meeting in those lodges would like to see our relationship with the community strengthened and seek opportunities to help the local people in the City of Yarra and beyond, but with a local focus.
